when our limbs buckle from fear changes that come much too quick
hold your shedding skin as it peels
beige and brown like papyrus
into the tea tree lakes
there is nobody to protect us
from contamination
rinse the metallic bruising
with oils crushed from leaves
and i want to watch over you
like seedpods emerging
ramble over the vines
but these roads stretch like mountains
melting against the lilac
my heels dig against rubber
asphalt, concrete,
it's all the same
